One of the few people coming to President Joe Biden’s defense in his classified documents scandal is, of all people, die-hard MAGA Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz, who suggested that the classified documents were planted to make Biden look bad.
“Well, things in Washington aren’t always what they seem,” Gaetz said on Fox News. “Consider this. It was Joe Biden’s Democrat personal lawyer that was rummaging around his stuff, looking for what? Evidence of a crime that his septuagenarian client committed nine years ago?”
“And then he alerts the democratic staff at the White House that does the absolute worst thing you could possibly do; they sat on the information. They should have diffused the matter and then inoculated themselves in the process,” he continued.
“Then the moment this is leaked to CBS, you have the Democrat Biden Department of Justice appoint a Special Counsel, and now the big tell is that even Joe Biden’s strongest allies in the congress, like Senator Coons, are saying that they approve of the appointment of a special counsel to criminally investigate the president,” Gaetz added.
“Maybe the Deep State and a lot these Democrats have figured out that they’d rather roll with Gavin Newsom than Joe Biden,” Gaetz said. “The Republicans might not even have to help the Democrats take out their trash.”
When it was later announced that White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain would be stepping down, Gaetz said it was evidence for his theory.
“This is the key tell that what I said last week is likely true – the Deep State is taking out Biden,” Gaetz wrote on Twitter.

They have to take out Joe Biden otherwise he is the 2024 uncontested candidate and the Dems can’t afford that. That’s a sure defeat for the 2024 election: both the chief executive office as well as both houses.

To remove such a wrecking ball of anything in the US over documents? Why not the open border? the corruption? the Afghanistan disaster? etc..

Matt Gaetz may be correct about the “deep state” taking down Biden, but the documents were certainly not planted. If they were, it would come out in the investigation, because the time and relevance of the documents has to work with his vice presidency, from when he has them.
So, you may ask, what prompted them to start looking for documents? Well, I don’t know for sure, but it seems all presidents and vice presidents keep old “classified” docs; look, they just found Pence with a bunch of classified documents. So they figured that in the wake of the furor over Trump’s documents, they could make him look like a real idiot (even more than he already does) and get rid of him.
