Firebrand MAGA Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene was questioned over her promotion of wacky conspiracies over the years, including one about a Jewish-controlled space laser causing wildfires in California, another that a Satan-worshipping cabal secretly controls Washington, a third that mass shootings were staged, and more.
Fox News host Howard Kurtz asked Greene about her ouster from committee assignments in the previous Congress over personal views that she expressed over the years on social media.
“That was raw politics,” Kurtz said. “But in fairness, didn’t you also say around that period that you had been a follower of QAnon conspiracy theories, and you had rethought this and you were no longer influenced by the group?”
“Well, like a lot of people today, I had easily gotten sucked into some things I had seen on the internet,” MTG replied. “But that was dealt with quickly early on. I never campaigned on those things. That was not something I believed in. That’s not what I ran for Congress on. So, those are so far in the past.”

This woman is not only an anti-Semite but is also dumb as a rock. I’ll bet anything that she can’t explain the difference between the roles of the House and Senate.
But, of course, all the Trump people will say she’s great for the simple reason that she’s a Republican.
@Yanky55 : Can you explain the difference? All I know is they’re two separate bodies of lawmakers, but why we have them both I don’t know. The House represents districts, and the Senate represents states. That’s all I know.

Yanky, she is NOT an antisemite. There is not a shred of evidence or reason to believe she is one.
And she NEVER said anything about “Jewish space lasers”; that construction was invented by her enemies and hung on her. If someone claims that she ever spoke of “Jewish space lasers”, that person is a liar, just like someone who claims that Sarah Palin ever said she could see Russia from her house, or that Reagan ever said ketchup is a vegetable (although it is), or that Trump said there were good people on both sides of the “Jews will not replace us” march, or that Bush Sr was amazed by the sight of a by-then-ordinary supermarket price scanner, or that Bush Jr brought a plastic turkey to Iraq, or so many other hateful libels.
She is something of an idiot. But that’s not a crime. Not everyone can be smart. If I lived in her district I would probably not vote for her in the primary, but I would definitely vote for her in the general election. I’d rather have a dumb representative whose heart is in the right place and who will vote with the rest of the party, than a Democrat.
As for the house and senate, their roles are almost identical. The only real difference is that the president needs the senate’s “advice and consent” to make appointments and treaties. That’s a tiny fraction of the senate’s work.

Milhouse- right. Not a shred of evidence that she said anything like that. That’s why 11 Republicans with some decency voted with Democrats to strip her of all committee assignments.
I’m not sure you are aware of this or not, but technology exists which makes it possible to remove all social network videos which make a person look bad. Now that she’s done that, it’s all suddenly in the past and not something she believes in. How gullible are you exactly?
Yanky, you are simply a liar. There were never any videos about “Jewish space lasers”, so none were removed. Nor are there any other videos, or anything else, that shows even a smidgen of antisemitism. You are once again simply making things up because you hate her.
The Republicans who voted to remove her committee assignments were not “decent”, they were traitors and very indecent. They should have been expelled from the Republican caucus for that vote.

The worst thing about living in our tekufa is that people read lies and run with them. Some tipish reads about laser beams and doesn’t bother checking out the veracity of the statements. Also, they don’t care at all about inciting (R’L). Never mind that her values are identical to our values and that is who you wish to attack. Always scoring a touchdown for the other side. Sickening!

In perhaps one of the greatest moments in debate in the “world’s greatest deliberative body”, Republican Senator Hruska of Nebraska rose to offer a passionate defense of Nixon’s supreme court nominee (Carswell) whose intellect was being questioned even by some Republicans. Hruska ended his defense as follows: “Even if he were mediocre, there are a lot of mediocre judges and people and lawyers. They are entitled to a little representation on the Court, aren’t they, and a little chance? We can’t have all Brandeises, Frankfurters and Cardozos.
And then there was the Virginia senator who called a news conference to deny that he was the “dumbest member of Congress (as was reported in the Washingtonian Magazine based on a survey of congressional staff).
The constitution says nothing about being a talmid chacham to be eligible for Congress.

But your stupid comment denigrating her facial attributes is consistent with those of a former occupant of the Oval Office who always found some childish trope to demean his political opponents based on their physical attributes. Recall his demeaning comments about a Republican businesswoman who dared challenge him in the Presidential primaries, or those about a disabled journalist who criticized him, or his denial of all the sexual assault allegations because he wouldn’t have gone after such an ugly woman.
When Dems have engaged in such rhetoric, which they do, it is equally stupid and childish.
