“WHACK JOB”: MAGA Republican Rep. Stefanik Privately Tears Into Trump

Republican Rep. Elise Stefanik, known for her strong support of former President Donald Trump and his “MAGA” agenda, was reportedly heard calling Trump a “whack job” in private conversations, the New York Times reports.

Stefanik has been the third-highest ranking Republican in the House since Rep. Liz Cheney was ousted over her incessant attacks against Trump and her joining the January 6 Committee.

Stefanik reportedly made the “whack job” comment while speaking with other lawmakers during the January 6th riot at the U.S. Capitol.

Stefanik, who represents New York’s 21st congressional district, has publicly aligned herself with Trump and his supporters, and has defended his claims of widespread voter fraud in the 2020 election. However, her private comments reveal a marked contrast to her public stance.

It is not uncommon for politicians to hold different views in private than they do in public, but Stefanik’s past support for Trump and his rhetoric make the revelation of her private comment particularly noteworthy. It remains to be seen how this will impact Stefanik’s political future and relationships within the Republican party.

  1. MAGA Republican? in 2020 everyone knew she’s not…
Maybe you meant MUGA (Make Ukraine Great Again…)
Where is she now to say I’m not funding “the government” unless you fix the border?

  2. Stephanik is not much different than the rest of the lose screws no matter red or blue, across the board they have no seichel period….Trump may you win the Presidency you already garnered once twice and now for a third…may this third be a blessing and strength to tumble the democrats and jews who have forgotten who Hashem is…….

  3. Did I see right? YWN is quoting the nyt? What are we coming too? Time for Agudas Yisroel to put billboards out against ywn. Before it’s too late

  4. Did I see right? YWN is quoting the nyt? What are we coming too? Time for Agudas Yisroel to put billboards out against ywn. Before it’s too late! Do you how many private conversations the nyt has about ywn?

  5. It’s not really so contradictory. We all know that his overblown ego causes him to make outlandish “whack job” statements. But at the same time, his policies – and his actions when he was president – were very good for the U.S., and for us. They were not reckless at all. So it’s plausible that he might actually deserve support in 2024 if he is the one who really has the best chance of defeating the democratic candidate.

The problem is that while defeating Biden or some other stooge, he might at the same time undermine overall support for Republicans in congress. Considering that downside, DeSantis could be a better candidate.

  6. I personally detest the YWN all -caps opinions affixed to headines. Very amateurish, sensationalist, and rag-like. But at least spell you words correctly. In this case, the term you’re looking for is “wack-job”. As in “wacky”, not “hit as hard as you can”.

  7. MAGA is a doctrine, a form of policy. Trump may have set it up and deserves credit for it, but it should no longer be connected to the personality. Jan 6 was a mistake by people who did just that.

  8. People need to realize that Trump could never again win in the general election. He has too many negatives. Only someone like DeSantis has a chance

  9. Trump is great. Rinos get lost. YWN follows orders just like a puppet fake news service. Truth over lies, slander and bias.

  10. There’s no contradiction. Stefanik, like most Republicans, was and remains an enthusiastic supporter of Trump’s agenda and his record. That doesn’t mean she worships the man or is blind to his numerous faults. The plain fact is that he is a wack-job, but he was also the best president since Coolidge. He didn’t even believe in the conservative agenda, or understand it; but he achieved more of it than even Ronaldus Magnus, a true intellectual and a true believer. So I’m with Stefanik — Make America Great Again, and Make Trump Shut Up.
