A hotel in Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey, rented out for about 800 guests celebrating Shabbos Chanukah had to be evacuated after a pipe burst, leaving the guests outside in frigid temperatures motzei Shabbos.
Rockland Hatzolah and Chaveirim rushed to the Hilton of Woodcliff Lake immediately after the zman on motzei Shabbos to assist the guests, with Chaveirim providing multiple school buses allowing guests to remain warm and out of the frigid weather. Woodcliff Lake had a RealFeel temperature below 0 degrees Fahrenheit motzei Shabbos.
A Woodcliff Lake FD official said a burst pipe on the fourth floor of the Hilton hotel caused a massive leak, causing all heating in the structure to be turned off.
A concert planned for motzei shabbos and further activities scheduled for Sunday were in limbo as hundreds of guests had enough and made their way back home to get some warmth.

I was there this information is very inaccurate for starters there were only 650 people there secondly the fire department kindly allowed us against the rules to remain indoors thirdly they told us almost right away that we had to leave so there was no hanging in limbo the entire night as the article made it sound
As we say on Yom Hadin…..Who by latkes, who by doughnuts, who by expensive Chanukah retreats.
You want a real Chanukah retreat? Stay home with your family and use the the cash that you would have wasted for an expensive retreat to feed those families who truly have no food for Chanukah, Shabbos or even during the week. There are plenty of families around you who need help.
A Freilechen Chanukah!
Drug
How do you know that these guys didn’t give money to the poor already? Besides you’re talking as if you know what it means to spend that money for a retreat if you had that money you would also go on that retreat you don’t know how it is when you’re in that situation.
More significantly, there are numerous Shaalos about where to light when traveling to such retreats, or any travel for that matter.
