(VIDEO & PHOTO LINKS AT END OF ARTICLE) The Lakewood FD battled a structure fire for close to 2 hours Thursday afternoon (originally reported HERE in the YWN News Alerts Feature)
Numerous fire departments from neighboring townships (Howell, Brick) were called to assist in fighting the fire on Nolan Place and Ridge Avenue. The fire which broke out at approximately 2:30PM, was reportedly inside a vacant home.
Lakewood EMS transported one firefighter to Kimball Medical Center for minor injuries, but other than that, there were no injuries reported.
This is the second fire this week in this vacant structure, and the fire has been labeled suspicious. The Ocean County Sheriff Department, Ocean County Fire Marshals, along with detectives from the Lakewood Police Department are on the scene investigating. Lakewood Hatzolah along with Lakewood Chaverim are on the scene, and assisted in providing relief supplies to the fire fighters.

It didn’t look like such a big fire. Why did they need Brick and Howell as well?

AYIN TOV I THINK YOU SHOULD CHECK YOUR AYIN OUT ITS NOT WORKING TO WELL FROM THE AMOUNT OF SMOKE AND FLAMES THAT CAME FROM THAT BUILDING I WAS SUPRISED THE FDNY DID NOT GET CALLED TO HELP THE ENTIRE NEIGHBORHOOD WAS COVERED FOR SEVERAL HOURS IN SMOKE
i hope you ae not complaining about the job the lakewood fire dept did. we were out there for hours when i could have been home doing somthing with my kids and family. do you people realize that we are volunteers. we dont get paid for this .we do this to protect the life and property of lakewood residents including the gentile haters like your self. you know we evev go put fires on friday and saturday, remeber that. people need to think before they complain. by the way i didnt get home till 9 pm to see my wife and children. a simple thankyou will do .
mr jaykid26 the lakewood fire department is one of the greatest and braveest they did a great job over there the size of that particular fire was emormous and it took till about 630 to get it out lakewood residents know what you do and appreciate it just #1 comment did not get the picture of this particular situation he thought it was a camp fire and didnt realize it was a massive house fire that sent one of lakewoods bravest to kimball this is a sacrafice that lfd do for lakewood residence day in and day out dropping every thing and running so we shoulnt lose everything my you all be blessed
