NOW THEY ADMIT IT: Former Top Twitterati Admits Censoring Hunter Biden Laptop Story Was Wrong

Shortly after Elon Musk announced that he will be releasing Twitter’s files demonstrating the company’s free speech suppression, particularly how it affected the dissemination of the Hunter Biden laptop story, a top former Twitter official has now come out to admit that it was wrong to censor it.

“We didn’t know what to believe, we didn’t know what was true, there was smoke – and ultimately for me, it didn’t reach a place where I was comfortable removing this content from Twitter,” former Twitter safety chief Yoel Roth told interviewer Kara Swisher. “But it set off every single one of my finely tuned APT28 hack and leak campaign alarm bells.”

Despite Roth’s claim that he pushed back against censorship of the story, Twitter officials decided to block any sharing of links to the story.

“But – so it was a mistake?” Swisher asked.

“In my opinion, yes,” Roth replied.

Roth and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said they were approached by the FBI about the laptop story ahead of the 2020 election, warning that foreign propaganda and misinformation could soon be flooding Twitter and Meta-owned platforms.

When the New York Post’s bombshell story about Hunter Biden was published, both Twitter and Facebook were quick to either suppress it or block it completely. The New York Post was also locked out of its Twitter account for weeks over the story.
