Pence Slaps Down Jan. 6 Committee’s Wish to Interview Him, Says “Congress Has No Right to My Testimony” [SEE THE VIDEO]

Following months of speculation, former VP Mike Pence made clear that he will not give testimony about Jan. 6 to the House committee investigating the events of that fateful day.

In an interview with CBS, Pence said that the committee isn’t entitled to hearing from him and that testifying would eat away at the “separation of powers” by speaking to “partisan” lawmakers.

“I served for 12 years in the Congress. It’s inconceivable to me that one party would appoint every member of a committee in Congress. That’s antithetical to the whole idea of the committee system. that being said, I never stood in the way of senior members of my team cooperating with the committee and testifying,” Pence told interviewer Margaret Brennan.

“But Congress has no right to my testimony. We have a separation of powers under the Constitution of the United States and I believe it would establish a terrible precedent for the Congress to summon a vice president of the United States to speak about deliberations that took place at the White House.”

Asked if he was “closing the door” on testifying to the committee, Pence said he was, adding again that “the partisan nature of the Jan. 6 committee has been a disappointment to me.”

  1. “To Examine every aspect” must include why the soon to be former speaker of the house [nancy] didn’t bother engaging services of more police & soldiers as per President Donald Trump’s request.

Meanwhile right now, Vice President Mike Pence can stall for time as this inquiry is hopefully fading into the oblivion come January 3rd, 2023

  2. Love all this hoot. Pences’ grandmother was a Jew. Imagine this. I can no longer imagine this. Nor imagine Biden truly representing Jewis interest’s. Hidden Agendas

  3. I’m used to Sara Rifka’s comments being a mixture of incomprehensible and nonsensical, but even for her this one takes the cake. No, neither of Pence’s grandmothers were Jewish. Where do you come up with such crazy assertions?

He’d make a good president, though. If he runs in the primary I am likely to vote for him (depending on who else runs).

  4. Pence seems to ignore the fact that republicans were able to have half the seats on the committee, they refused. He also seems to forget that he’s no longer the Vice President.

  5. No, RT, you liar. He is not ignoring anything. The Republicans nominated their delegates to this committee, and that witch Pelosi refused to seat two of them. That was a completely unprecedented chutzpah on her part. One party does not get to tell the other party whom they award their committee seats.

Of course the Dems followed that up by kicking Marjorie Greene off her committees. I hope the new majority repays the Dems for that tenfold, and teaches them such a lesson that they will never repeat their chutzpah. Adam Schiff, Maxine Waters, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, and several others must not be allowed on any committee. I would add Alcee Hastings, but he has already gone to Hell.

  6. Oh milhouse, you can be forgiven for being uninformed. The legislation to create the committee, just like the numerous benghazi committees, stated that appointees had to be chosen with consultation of the Speaker, meaning she had veto power.
You’re upset that the anti Semitic Marj lost her committee assignments?!!

  7. It is completely unprecedented for one party to dictate to the other party who their delegates shall be. That makes the committee a partisan exercise and illegitimate.

As for Greene, there is NO evidence that she is an antisemite. It is a BLOOD LIBEL made up by you and your fellow Democrat liars. You are disgusting.
