NO SELF CONTROL: Donald Trump Again Attacks McConnell’s Wife with Racist Nickname

If Donald Trump has any ability to control the things he says and writes, he doesn’t show it very often. And for the umpteenth time, he has attacked a perceived foe’s wife, and threw in a racial nickname for good measure.

Trying to deflect blame for Republicans’ underwhelming midterm results, Trump went after one of his favorite enemies: Mitch McConnell.

“It’s Mitch McConnell’s fault,” Trump declared, referring to the midterm results. “Spending money to defeat great Republican candidates instead of backing Blake Masters and others was a big mistake. Giving 4 Trillion Dollars to the Radical Left for the Green New Deal, not Infrastructure, was an even bigger mistake. He blew the Midterms, and everyone despises him and his otherwise lovely wife, Coco Chow!”

This isn’t the first time Trump called McConnell’s wife, Elaine Chao, a racist nickname. He used the same “Coco Chow” insult back in September. And this latest use of the nickname comes just two days after he went after Republican Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin, whose name Trump said “sounds Chinese.”

“Young Kin (now that’s an interesting take. Sounds Chinese, doesn’t it?) in Virginia couldn’t have won without me,” Trump wrote. “I Endorsed him, did a very big Trump Rally for him telephonically, got MAGA to Vote for him – or he couldn’t have come close to winning. But he knows that, and admits it. Besides, having a hard time with the Dems in Virginia – But he’ll get it done!”

Trump again went after Youngkin on Sunday night, also attacking Virginia Lieutenant Gov. Winsome Sears, who is seen as one of the top up-and-coming black Republicans in the country.

  1. He is a racist. He is singlehandedly destroying the republican party. He is completely responsible for the loss of the last three elections.

  2. This country is so tired of Trump at this point and its time to move on… I admired the man for all his accomplishments and was on his side for the last 6.5 years but he has become so nasty of late and his arrogance and his demeanor is just too hard to ignore. This country can do…. and must do better…
If only he’d realize that he is his own biggest enemy..

  3. Delusional Donald’s behavior has gotten stranger and stranger. He’s been attacking Republicans daily with his comments on his Truth Social and his missives issued on his 45th President letterhead.

  4. He’s been like this since the 70’s. Nothing new. Watch any one of his shows in the 80’s. If anyone is supporting the republicans because of principal, you had no business supporting this embarrassment to the human being. I’m not a big fan of Biden, but Trump’s character is a total embarrassment.

  5. The reason he’s not attacking Democrats, Coffee addict, is because one first must clean his own home.
McConnell is at fault we don’t have the Senate, and everyone is blaming Trump.
McConnell’s wife is Chines and has very strong ties to the Chinese government. It’s a fact for anyone who cares to check it out…

  6. @cool masmid, I agree with @ish hashalom. Trump was always nasty and arrogant and I have disliked him for decades. That’s why I had to hold my nose when I voted for him in the last election. Everyone overlooked his bad traits, because of his policies. But you can only overlook only so much, and it looks like even his supporters are getting sick and tired of his ever present antics.

  7. It is time for the Republican party to divorce themselves from former President Trump. He has done enough damage to American society and the Republicans will never reclaim full power until Trump disappears from their platform.

  8. To rt: Trump is not singlehandedly destroying the Republican party. His supporters are.

And would a Trump supporter please explain what you think he accomplished as president. Did he (i) lower taxes on the middle class, (ii) lower prescription drug prices, (iii) fund infrastructure improvements, (iv) strengthen US allies’ support for Israel, (v) build a wall? No, no, no, no, and … no.

  9. MDshweks, Mitch McConnell’s wife is Taiwanese not Chinese. You should know that China does not recognize Taiwan and seeks to seize it. Her family own a Taiwanese shipping company.

  10. NO SELF CONTROL: Yeshiva World is OBSESSED with bashing Trump and can’t stop. Why don’t you focus on our real issues that THE DEMOCRATS are destroying our country?

  11. huju – Yes, yes, yes and yes.
    1. He did lower taxes all across the board resulting in an economy that lifted up poverty. Record lowest people on food-stamps, record lowest unemployment, even amongst blacks and latinos.
    2. He did lower drug prices until corona hit. Check it out.
    3. Infrastructure – he was the first Republican to really try. He was stopped by the Democrats who were just busy with stupid impeachments. Don’t tell me all this just slipped your mind…
    4. Strengthen allies’ support for Israel?! you gotta be kidding… the best to Israel in history. Under him the Saudis started talking with Israel, the Abraham accords et. Where were you?
    5. Build a wall?! really? I thought they don’t work! when he ran in 2016 they all made fun of the wall idea. He then went on to build over 400 miles of wall, all with a Democrat house and under constant fire from people like you, but you’re not happy enough…

  12. I find it hilarious that YWN thinks they can ascribe motives like “NO SELF CONTROL” to someone likely old enough to be the writer’s father, if not old enough to be the writer’s grandfather.

President Trump knows exactly what he is doing. It is not a matter of “self-control”. Anyone who has watched him during his Presidency realizes that he deliberately made those remarks.

  13. Elaine Chao and I were in Young Republicans together way back in 1975. She then dated Michael Antonovich who was the California GOP Chair and a State Assemblyman. When Antonovich decided not to run for the US Senate she moved on to Congressman Chris Cox who was running for US Senate. When he lost his senate race she moved on to Mitch McConnell. She finally got her Senator. She hosted Madame Chiang Kai-shek and brought her to the US Senate for a gala reception which I attended as a guest of Elaine.
Elaine Chao is one of the most interesting, inspiring and consequential leaders in our country. She’s among the very few Americans who has been appointed to two Presidential cabinet positions: U. S. Secretary of Transportation and U. S. Secretary of Labor. In fact, she is the first Asian American woman to be appointed to the President’s cabinet in U.S. history. Secretary Chao was also President and CEO of United Way of America and Director of the Peace Corps. She had previously served as Deputy Secretary of Transportation; Chair, Federal Maritime Commission; Deputy Maritime Administrator; and White House Fellow.
Soon after she married Senator Mitch McConnell, I attended a Republican Leadership reception with the Senator. As we spoke the Senator had us move closer to the entrance of the ballroom because Elaine was about to arrive. When she walked in Senator McConnell called to her “Oh Honey, Honey, I want to introduce you to a good friend of mine…” Elaine looked at me and said “Dear, I’ve known Commissioner H………. longer than I’ve known you!” Senator McConnell gave me a somewhat dirty look and we didn’t speak much after that!
