A Con Edison statement this morning said that electricity had been restored to an approximate 2,000 customers in Sunset Park, Bay Ridge, Borough Park, and Park Slope – who were left without power yesterday when electrical lines broke down.
At 8:30 last night, Con Ed also lifted a request that customers in those areas stop using all non-essential electrical appliances, including air conditioning. However, the utility is still urging energy conservation.
Dry ice was made available by Con-Ed to customers so they could save their refrigerated items.
Temperatures are expected to climb past 90 degrees today, for the sixth day in a row.
