NY Times Report: Post, Daily News Mull Partnership

daily news.jpgAre two bitter tabloid rivals are considering a partnership?

The New York Times says representatives for the New York Post and the Daily News have been quietly talking about combining some of their business operations in an effort to save money.

The Times says the papers don’t want to merge, but instead are looking to combine processes like printing and delivery.

The Post loses money – close to $50 million a year by the Times estimate; while the Daily News breaks even.

On weekdays the papers have very similar circulation numbers. The News leads on Sundays. This is not the first time the subject has been discussed.

  1. Very well said Joseph.I dont know a single jew who reads these papers. And a frum website shouldn’t be publicizing them! Baruch hashem there are enough frum papers to read, that we dont have to prust our minds up with these.

  2. All Newspapers are good as long as there is no anti-semitism in it. MSNBC is Very Liberal, CNN has become Neutral, MSNBC Is very Liberal and they Have got Worse, Keith Olberman is a huge Liberal, dont watch the show countdown with keith olberman

  3. We keep hearing how the newspapers are losing money but what I cant understand is HOW they stay in business?! 50M Anually?!??! Thats a nice chunk of change.

  4. Shlamazel1,

Granted there are “frum” papers to read but how “frum” is it of the paper when they change the facts of the story to match their agenda. This is common in one of the daily “frum” papers and they have admited to it. Oh and they also change quotes too!
