Brooklyn, NY – Democratic Councilman Simcha Felder attended a blood drive last week sponsored by Bikur Cholim of Boro Park. The New York Blood Center has reported a blood shortage in Greater New York and has an urgent need for blood donations. This blood drive collected 80 units of much needed blood for the New York area.
“Every blood donation has the potential to save a life. If you are able to, set aside a few minutes for this great Mitzvah and Chesed,” said Felder.

I donated blood there, and promptly passed out after I got up. The staff was very caring and nice, and they kept me there for an extra hour! to monitor my vitals before they let me go. The food was delicious. Great job – Bikur Cholim!
P.S. Just don’t chap what Simcha Felder has to do with it though.
BS”D
We all know politicians are filthy bloodsuckers but at least Simcha Felder is doing it for pikuach nefesh!
Seriously, as a former Maimo/Bikur Cholim frequent donor who is now living abroad, I know that Maimonides unfortunately has a real and constant need for blood and platelets especially during the summer. Please go to Maimonides and donate whenever you can. Bikur Cholim’s group number is 481 but when the Maimo staff sees a Yid come to donate they automatically mark the blood down for 481 and give out any meal vouchers etc that BCBP provides.
