This coming Shabbos, will mark 28 years since the passing of the Rebbe – Hagaon HaRav Menachem Mendel Schneerson ZT”L. The days surrounding the Yartheit, 3 Tammuz on the Hebrew calendar, are being marked by millions of people in every corner of the world who have been touched by the Rebbe’s love, his profound teachings and by the 5,000 Shluchim couples he sent to invigorate and revitalize Jewish life in 110 countries and thousands of cities.
Communities are holding gatherings and farbrengens on or close to the date, and 50,000 people are expected to visit the Ohel, the Rebbe’s resting place in Queens, N.Y., in the days leading up to the third of Tammuz. In keeping with the Rebbe’s lifetime goals and teachings, millions of people throughout the world have been participating in prayers, lectures, gatherings, tributes and the additional performance of good deeds in the Rebbe’s memory.
In addition to the many thousands expected to visit in-person, many around the world will send in their personal prayer petitions by email to be delivered to the Ohel. Staff print thousands of papers and tear them—to protect the petitioner’s privacy—before placing them at the Ohel, where they join a massive mound of papers. Periodically, staff collect the papers and burn them as per the Rebbe’s instructions.
The Vaad Hamesader at the Ohel would like to notify that beginning Thursday 1st Tammuz 8pm, until Friday 2nd Tammuz 6pm and again Motzei Shabbos 3rd Tammuz 9:30pm, until Sunday evening 4th Tammuz 9pm – entry to the Ohel will be via a non-stop line.
‘Maane Loshon’ and Tehillim should be read while waiting in line. Inside the Ohel you will only have time to place your Pan whilst walking around the Ohel. Please plan accordingly.
Thank you for your cooperation.

Definitely not enough pictures.
disclaimer: any comments made are for humor purposes only not to take sides in any dispute to go or not ect. WOW!!! soooo many pictures! it was like a slow moving video! come to think of it…. now that i “saw it all” why go?😃
It looks like a lot of preparations have been made, and that’s great.
The most impressive part is that it’s referred to as the “Yahrtzeit” of the Rebbe “zatza’l”.
I wish they could write that over here in Eretz Yisrael.
I know of one shul which advertised a hisva’adus on the “yahrtzeit” and the sign was taken down without hours.
it was replaced with an announcement about a “hisva’adus on the Rebbe shlit”a’s special day Gimul Tamuz”.
I love the pictures with the signs saying “no picture taking”
Idiots
“Communities are holding gatherings and farbrengens”
Non-Lubavitchers? Few, if any.
“50,000 people are expected to visit the Ohel, the Rebbe’s resting place in Queens, N.Y., in the days leading up to the third of Tammuz.”
Not too impressive. How many Lubavitchers are there nowadays anyway?
coffee addict, maybe it meant past a certain further place also maybe it meant besides for news like kol haolam kulo and YWN!
Still working on my שבת plans:- Whom do I contact to merit to spend שבת by the אוהל?
Wonderful pics and all, but why all the overexposed footage? It looks like someone took the photographer’s camera thinking it was on auto mode, but left it on manual with an overexposed setting. All the whites are blown out of proportion!
Amazed and shocked to see the various comments so far….people need to grow up and respect a little more. Like during the Yartzeit of Harav Mordechai Eliyahu being publicized with tens of thousands of attendees, would you say “other than Sefaradim? nahhh”
Thank you for the pictures
What a Kidush HaShem
May we be redeemed in his zechous speedily.
He is a inspiration to me.
May we all find our KOSHER zivougim, Parnassa, have Refoua Shelema in his merit and be zoche to see GEOULA MAMESH NOW.

Ysiegel: during the Yartzeit of Harav Mordechai Eliyahu being publicized with tens of thousands of attendees, would you say “other than Sefaradim? nahhh”
Big difference. R. Mordechai Eliyahu wasn’t promoted widely by his followers for decades as being נשיא הדור, משיח.
The Rebbe is still alive
As a Litvak, I want to comment on this Mechutzaf Lemayseh..
Who are you bichlal?
How many Gedolim did Reb Moshe Zatzal visit? Do you know that Reb Moshe only started wearing Rabeinu Taam Tefilin after it was encouraged by the Rebbe!
Do you know that the Rebbe’s Soifer wrote the Tefilin for Reb Moshe Zatzal!
Did you see the hand-written letter from Harav Shlom Zalman Oierbach Zatzal to the Rebbe? Did you know that he asked the Rebbe to be mispaplel for him and his family! Its published in this week’s Jewish Press. Get yourself a copy, read it and then go ask Mechila at the Tzion of the Heilige Rebbe Zatzal.
Without naming any names, I was introduced to the Sichos of the Rebbe Zatzal by a Gadol, Rosh Yeshiva in Ponovez. There is no secret today of the gadlus of the Rebbe. Listen to what Harav Shachter שליט”א repeats from his Rebbe Horav Soleveichik Zatzal about the Rebbe.
The more I learn his Torah and hear about his personality, I come to a sad realization that there will never be another Rebbe like him. יהא זכרו ברוך

How many Gedolim did Reb Moshe Zatzal visit? Reb Moshe visited the Rebbe for a private audience in the Rebbe’s room.
Do you know that Reb Moshe only started wearing Rabeinu Taam Tefilin after it was encouraged by the Rebbe!
Do you know that the Rebbe’s Soifer wrote the Tefilin for Reb Moshe Zatzal!
Did you see what Reb Moshe wrote to the Rebbe when he sent his Talmid to hand deliver his monumental Igros Moshe to the Rebbe?
Did you see the hand-written letter from Harav Shlomo Zalman Oierbach Zatzal to the Rebbe? Did you know that he asked the Rebbe to be mispaplel for him and his family! כהנה וכהנה רבות….
Without naming any names, I was introduced to the Sichos of the Rebbe Zatzal by a Gadol, Rosh Yeshiva in Ponovez… in Bnei Brak.
There is no secret today of the gadlus of the Rebbe. Listen to what Harav Shachter שליט”א repeats from his Rebbe Horav Soleveichik Zatzal about the Rebbe.
The more I learn the Torah of the Rebbe Zatzal and the more I hear about his personality, I come to a sad realization that there will never be another Rebbe like him.

I want to add a disclaimer on my comment above.
My work brings me to Crown Heights a few times a month. When I first met real Lubavitchers, like the ones from the Alte Heim, those that speak only Yiddish, Learn and Daven, lived with Mesirus Nefesh in Russia… it was a total eye opener for me. I couldn’t believe we have such holy Yidden in our midst. They don’t understand any other way, they live Torah and Yiddishkeit. They are not looking for business or materialistic things…. they are connected to something much higher…
A few months ago I met HaGaon Horav Brudny שליט”א at a wedding in Crown Heights. He was talking to a few young Chasidim about the Rebbe and how he would come to the Rebbe’s Farbrengens.
This Rebbe Zatzal was a מלאך אלוקים, just listen to some of those that had a first hand experience and it will give you הרהורי תשובה
Lemayseh:
He himself, was he a gaon? A gadol? Highly respected in his own merit by Yidden of all colors? And until today, many Yidden find inspiration in his teachings? Being at the Ohel several times, I can tell you that at least half of the visitors are not in fact Lubavitchers. This article is about the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s yartzeit, and even here there is a need to spew hatred and dissent…
