According to Rav Shmuel Eliyahu, his father Rav Mordechai [Tzemach ben Mazel Tov] Eliyahu Shlita, remains in an intensive care unit in Shaare Zedek Medical Center. He explains that following his successful resuscitation, the rehabilitation process is slow, but B’chasdei Hashem, the Rav does function and does not appear to have sustained neurological impairment.
The former chief rabbis is eating, writing and is occupied with matters as he continues working to rehabilitate himself, still on partially assisted breathing.
The rav suffered a heart attack on Pesach, followed by a stroke and other complications related to both conditions.
