NY1 reports: After an appearance in court this morning on civil disobedience charges, Reverend Al Sharpton promised more demonstrations on the Sean Bell shooting verdict.
Sharpton, along with Bell’s fiancée Nicole Paultre-Bell and more than 200 others, faces charges in connection with the May protests, following the acquittal of three detectives charged in the shooting.
The reverend refused a deal to plead guilty; his case is set for later this month.
Protestors say they will not march during the All-Star Game next week as originally planned, instead waiting until the State Legislature meets in a special session anticipated for later this month.
There is the expectation lawmakers will address reforms aimed at preventing a repeat of the November 2006 shooting, in which the unarmed Bell was fatally shot by police after his pre-wedding party; two of his friends with him that night were wounded.
“We will not be going to jail at the All-Star Game next week, but we reserve the right to continue to engage in civil disobedience if a law is not passed and if there is no federal action,” said Sharpton. “It has always been our desire to get legislative, permanent change. We don’t demonstrate for exercise. We demonstrate for change.”

It is absolutly amaizing that Slim Shady Tawana Sharpton is the “voice” for anything. He is ALWAYS on the wrong side of any debate. he has zippo credability yet he runs around with his bull horn to spout his bull.

This guy is a Racist. We all need to go and Protest his Racism! If Sean Bell was White, Sharpton would be quiet and would be no where to be found. Racist Al wants attention. He wants there to be a racial divide instead of trying to bring unity. His own people depise him because he makes them look bad. The Media must ignore this guy. He belongs in Prison for Life so all people will be able to live in peace and love with each other.
