6:35PM EST: (UPDATE IN EXTENDED ARTICLE) There has been shots fired a few moments ago on Route 42 South & Terry Lane, just near Ichud Bungalows.
Numerous Sullivan County Sheriff and New York State Police officers are searching the area for the suspect who reportedly fled into the nearby yards. A perimeter has been set up, and a K9 has been brought to the scene.
UPDATE: Sullivan County Undersheriff Eric Chaboty tells YWN that witnesses are being questioned by the Monticello PD – and the area is safe.

How safe are the women and children (and everyone) in these bungalow colonies? What security measures do they have? Anyone can enter and do as he pleases up there.
Dear editor: was Hatzolah required or not? For most of your readers that is the key question. Posting a story like that without details just encourages worry and panic.
