Lawmakers in Washington, D.C., found what was an unwelcome sight on Wednesday morning: dozens of new illegal immigrants lining the streets of the nation’s capital.
A bus from Texas carrying the migrants reached Washington early Wednesday morning as part of Governor Greg Abbott’s plan to counter lax federal immigration policies by shipping them to the capital.
The bus stopped just blocks away from the U.S. Capitol building at around 8 a.m. on Wednesday morning, packed with migrants who illegally entered the U.S. from Colombia, Cuba, Nicaragua, and Venezuela.
Abbott’s plan is already apparently working to some extent, with reports that communities who reached out to the governor for support saying that the federal government has stopped dropping immigrants in their town.
“Texans demand and deserve an aggressive, comprehensive strategy to secure our border – not President Biden’s lackluster leadership,” Abbott said in a statement. “As the federal government continues to roll back commonsense policies that once kept our communities safe, our local law enforcement has stepped up to protect Texans from dangerous criminals, deadly drugs, and illegal contraband flooding into the Lone Star State.”

Brainless grandstanding by a conservative Texas Gov. This had minor impact on the fate of these men and women. They were processed in DC and released pending their immigration hearings. If one chooses other news sources for coverage of this story it will be noted that Catholic Charities has been prepared to assist these individuals with legal, food, housing and transportation. 30 people on a 30 hour bus drive to DC and CC were on the scene to help.
@Amil Zola. You must live near DC. It’s your president letting them come in in the first place, so you should take them. We don’t want illegals here in Texas or other red states.
They all volunteered for the trip east.
They got a free bus ride to Washington DC, thanks to Abott.
It will have zero effect on immigration.
But it does show that Abbott is willing to take meaningless actions in order to ingratiate himself with Fox news.
Amil: Could not have stated it more clearly. Abbott, as conservative as he purports to be , is facing criticism for his moments of sanity early in the pandemic when he briefly mandated masks and business closures. In Texas, such actions are chayav political sakilah, serefah, etc.
P.S. The immigrants he bused to D.C. agreed to travel VOLUNTARILY (since even Texas knows that cannot force people on to a bus). Many already had friends/family in the D.C./Baltimore area and appreciated the free travel while waiting for their asylum hearings.
He sent some of the better batch, he should have sent the ones that run & get caught with the MS13 Tattoos!

Thank God we have governors taking a stand. Let the DC Lefties reap the “reward” of their border policy, enabling the invasion from south of the border. Illegal aliens aren’t vetted, and simply by invading the country these illegal aliens have broken the law. In addition to that crime, many are violent criminals and have committed violent crimes, including sexual predation and rape, since coming to the USA. Maybe when they see the results of their perverted policies they’ll back down. Probably not, as wokism is a brainwashed cult.

They will be infesting DC and will be their problem, and making the DC people’s lives miserable, instead of those in Texas. Do you understand that Biden is deliberately allowing MILLIONS of people a year to stream over the border, and then the border towns have to look after them and suffer their crimes. Then he ships them in the middle of the night to areas where they voted against him, to make their lives miserable. Let them all be dumped where he is, and where the Democrats are, and they won’t like it so much. If they have to deal with the invasion on their front steps, maybe they’ll finally put an end to it. It’s like when Michael Ben-Ari took a busload of African infiltrators to a fancy pool in North Tel-Aviv and suddenly all the lefty “Tzfon-bonim” protested that these people were using THEIR pool instead of terrorizing the poor Jews who live near the bus station.
