During a campaign rally in the runup to the 2020 presidential election, then-President Donald Trump made a claim that was mocked and ridiculed by the mainstream media and Democrats.
Nobody is laughing now.
Trump released a short statement on Tuesday morning. It read as follows:

Trump contributed to this war by breaking alliances weakening NATO and not backing Ukraine.
This gave power to Russia believing they can win and thereby invading Ukraine.
Trump knew that prices would rise because he is a very stable genius just like the savvy genius Putin and his BFF Kim Jong Un.
Trump was smart enough to know that the economy would surge under Biden with record breaking GDP and record employment and that would increase demand for gasoline thereby increasing prices.
He was also smart enough to know that Biden would confront Putin with punishing sanctions (unlike Trump who allowed Putin to trample all over Syria and Eastern Ukraine) thereby causing prices to rise.
In truth it wasn’t just Trump who was smart it was the American people who voted Trump out of office.
And this immoral lying adulterer said the election was stolen. Who cares what this dumbbell says?

Did Trump predict that Putin would attack Ukraine?! This is a silly, mean spirited comment. The price of gas could have gone up, down or remained stable, depending on world politics, not only national affairs. Making fun of Biden while lionising Trump is meaningless conjecture that is harmful and self defeating.

Trump predicted they would rise because he knew Biden would slow American oil production. Which Biden has, from day one limiting permits and shutting Keystone XL and returning US to being dependent on foreign oil which fluctuates with world events

Raising gas prices was part of the Democrats’ policy and they made no secret about it. They are still defending their efforts to block pipelines, close down wells, and prevent new drilling. They ran on a platform of raising gas prices.
Well it kinda makes sense- if you stop drilling your own oil and you have to buy from others prices go up.

High oil prices may be painful but it is nothing compared to humanitarian crisis now caused by Putin, enabled by Trump, opposed remarkably well now by Biden and Zelensky
Look, I wasn’t originally a Trump fan, but at some point people need to acknowledge reality. Things were MUCH better when Trump was president. The fact that people can twist things and say it’s really Trumps fault and Biden is helping, shows how closed minded people can be. This really shows how cognitive dissonance is really a very powerful thing.
