A mask mandate for shops and other indoor spaces in New York state took effect Monday as officials confront a surge in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations.
Gov. Kathy Hochul announced Friday that masks would be required in all indoor public places unless the businesses or venues implement a vaccine requirement. The rule will last at least until Jan. 15.
Under the mandate, businesses can either require proof of vaccination for entry or ensure all patrons two years and older wear a mask. Violators could face civil and criminal penalties, including a maximum fine of $1,000.
Though past polls have shown many New Yorkers support mask mandates, some Republican elected officials have said educating the public would be a better use of resources than enforcing a mask mandate.
New York enacted a mask mandate at the beginning of the pandemic in April 2020 that ended in June 2021 for vaccinated individuals.

Does anyone realize that the reason we are back at mask mandates
Is because the vaccines are a complete and utter failure

It’s funny how the simple requirement of wearing a mask in certain indoor gatherings gets people so upset. And to ignore it when it clearly saves life is silly and dangerous.
It is so sickening ( figuratively and literally) that so many Frum yidden are against the vaccine when it has been proven all over the world to be extremely effective and protects against severe illness and ch”v death from COVID. There are NO reputable experts in epidemiology that disagree! How is it that people who have no expertise in this branch of medicine offer opinions. The same pertains to masks! How has this become a political issue? All reputable experts on epidemiology all over the world agree this is a necessary way to stop the spread of an epidemic! Why does YWN call it (in a headline no less) “madness”. It is a means to save lives. why is that madness? If COVID is on the rise again we need a mask mandate because so many people refused to take the vaccine! They are the reason it spreads! They are the reason we need a mask mandate!
