NYC’s Board Of Health Calls Racism A Public “Health Crisis”

New York City’s Board of Health on Monday passed a resolution that names racism as a public health crisis, joining the growing list of state and local governments around the country that have done so in recent years.

The resolution calls on the city’s Department of Health and Mental Hygiene to take steps including reviewing the city’s health code to look for structural racism, and find ways to make changes as necessary.

“To build a healthier New York City, we must confront racism as a public health crisis,” Health Commissioner Dr. Dave Chokshi said in a statement.

Since 2019, when Milwaukee County in Wisconsin was the first to call out racism as a public health issue, dozens of places around the country have followed suit. Supporters have said it’s an important step in addressing problems, while some have questioned whether the declarations will lead to real change.

  1. Perhaps the editors mistakenly omitted the reality that the REAL public health emergency is the seemingly endless number of brutal physical and verbal attacks on yidden or simply hide behind the semantic ruse that “anti-semitism is just another form of “racism”.

  2. Lol. NYC is falling apart due to high crime rates, rising inflation, rich taxpayers fleeing the city, kids and young adults getting a non-education in public schools and in colleges and universities, vaccine mandates that are keeping customers out of businesses forcing many of them to close…but all they can focus on is a non-issue.

  3. the HEALTH department is a very powerful part of government due to its importance,
looks like they just decided to use that power for their politicas, is their really no line democrat’s will not cross for their politics.
B”H hashem runs the world not politicians.

  4. They’re not only making clowns of themselves, but they’re discrediting the entire concept of public health crises. Which is good, because we’ve seen the nasty face of “public health”, so it could do with some discrediting. Racism is not a disease. Antisemitism is not a disease. Violence is not a disease. People being mean to each other is not a disease. None of these should be any concern to a board of health.
