Former President Donald Trump compared New York City to “communist countries” after calling out Mayor Bill de Blasio for canceling his company’s contract with a city-owned golf course in the Bronx borough.
“The course has received rave reviews, is considered one of the top ten open to the public facilities in the United States (could even be the best!), is designed for tournament play, and Mayor De Blasio wants to take it away after all of the work was so successfully done, and so much money was spent,” Trump said in a Tuesday statement. “So unfair—this is what happens in Communist Countries, not in America!”
Earlier this year, de Blasio announced it would terminate the city’s contracts with the Trump Organization in the wake of the January 6 Capitol riot.
“At the request of Mayor Bloomberg, the former Mayor of New York City, I took a longtime scandal-ridden site in the Bronx, which for almost 30 years had been a money-losing disaster that the city could not get built, and transformed it into a magnificent Jack Nicklaus Signature designed golf course, club house and amenities, which employs a large number of people and has been a showcase of beauty and success,” Trump said on Tuesday.
“Now under Mayor De Blasio, he wants to CONFISCATE the project from me for no reason whatsoever, and terminate my long-term arrangement with the city—and to think I just opened a beautiful $10 million clubhouse,” he added.
The Trump Organization had signed a 20-year contract with the city to run the course. This year marked the sixth year that the company has run Trump Golf Links at Ferry Point.

De Blasio is to new york is what Biden is to America, aiming at a complete and total destruction of civility, decency, normalcy. Their policies are decidedly pro-crime and chaos like you would not believe it, giving power to whoever can destroy, gangs, criminals, terrorists, illegals, whoever can come a take a piece.
He’s 100% right. And if he lands an honest judge, he will win his case against the city and get millions in damages.

I am not a golfer, but the worst-looking patch of grass I have seen anywhere is the city golf course “managed” by a Trump company.
I feel torn since its actually a really great golf course and within a long-tee shot from where I grew up in Pelham Bay but I suspect that lots of New Yorkers are reluctant to patronize any Trump properties. Given the post-Covid renaissance in golf nationwide, and especially in the NY metro area the City will have no difficulty finding a new management firm. (I don’t have a clue as to the legal merits of the City’s argument that Trump’s alleged role in the events of January 6th somehow constituted a “breach” by the Trump Organization of the management services agreement, which in turn allowed for termination)
Unless the city pays him for lost income, reflecting his investments, and the reasonable return on that investment, Trump will win damages. The fact that the City has admitted this was politically motivated will help Trump’s case and might set up a possible civil rights claim (to be paid by New York City’s taxpayers).
If this were a “Communist” (or Socialist, there isn’t that much of a difference) country, Trump would have signed over the property as a gift to someone politically appropriate of his free will, just before suffering a fatal heart attack. Fortunately, the Democrats aren’t quite that bad yet (though the WOKE crowd is moving in that direction).

Huju: Its probably the best “public” course in the NY metro area other than Bethpage but there are many local golfers who would rather play at the nearby Van Cortland Park course (with its brown fairways and lack of amenities) than step foot on or in any venue with a Trump logo.
BTW. Consider taking up the game. Great way to spend a few hours debating suguas with your chavrusah and get some exercise in the process.
