NYC Identifies Remains of Another 9/11 Victim

9-11.jpgThe New York City medical examiner has identified the remains of yet another victim of the 9/11 terrorist attacks after retesting remains with updated DNA technology.

The medical examiner’s office says a 51-year-old man was identified from remains found months after the 2001 attack. The office did not release his name.

More than 1,100 of New York’s 2,750 victims have not been identified because many of the more-than-20,000 remains found were too badly compromised by heat and time.

Twenty-two victims have been identified since new DNA technology was developed three years ago. Many of those were identified from remains recovered in the past two years in and around ground zero.

  2. i remember when they posted another levaya in my old shul in boro park for one of the kedoshim (thats how they refered to him in the levaya notice!) of 9-11, a few months after the family was told to sit shiva (which was also a few months after 9-11; i believe it was already 2002). everyone said — now the family has to go through this again, and odds are they’re just sitting shiva for just a “body part”, not the whole “guf”!

and you want to post the name!!!
