Campaigning for the first time with the Republican candidate of his choice for mayor, Joe Lhota, former Mayor Rudy Giuliani argued that voters have their only choice in Mr. Lhota before NYC turns back to the early ’90s.
Speaking to reporters after two stops at Senior centers in Staten Island, Mr. Giuliani said he felt ‘heartened’ by the court’s decision yesterday to delay court-ordered reforms in the federal stop and frisk trial and has also removed Judge Shira Scheindlin from the case.
The court of appeals made the point “that the whole rationale of Mr. de Blasio’s campaign is ‘phony.’ The court of appeals just basically said to him, this is a bunch of malarkey,” said Mr. Giuliani. “I’m extremely offended how he has maligned my Police Department.”
Mr. Giuliani suggested Mr. de Blasio should apologize for falsely suggesting Police officers were engaged in unconstitutional conduct. “Mr de Blasio should apologize to the people of the City, apologize to the people he ran against on this phony issue and most importantly, he should have a written apology to the New York City Police Department,” he said.
In his remarks, Mr. Giuliani also expressed great confidence that the court will at the end rule on favor of Mayor Bloomberg’s Stop-and-Frisk policy. By segueing this ruling, the court had to come to a conclusion that it is very likely that the City is going to be successful no the merits, he proclaimed. They have also come to a conclusion, Mr. Giuliani explained, that there’s no time to make that decision in the future because it’ll do a reparable harm if they wait another 3 months. “People may die between now and then, if you abandon Stop-and-Frisk,” he said.
Mr. Giuliani further argued that only Joe Lhota understands how to keep the City safe and prevent it from returning to the days of the late 80’s and early 90’s.
“I don’t want 6 months from now people come and tell me, like they did after mayor Koch was defeated, ‘Mayor, we made a big mistake. What are we going to do about our city?’ because they are. Crime is going to go up, as dramatically as Joe predicts, we are going to see the economy of this City in terrible shape, and people are going to start saying they should have vote for Joe Lhota. Voters should realize that if they vote for Bill de Blasio, don’t come complaining in 6 months or a year from now,” he said.

It’s all but over. Almost Mayor-Elect de Blasio WILL be sworn into office on Jan. 1st. Who are we kidding? He’s a commie but he’s gonna win. No doubt about it. Even though I will still vote against him. The facts and truth is that.
