New Jersey: Earlier Curfew Proposed For Young Drivers

car.jpgYoung drivers would have to get off the roads earlier under a proposal passed Monday by the Senate Transportation Committee, according to a report in the Daily Record.

The report said the bill, which changes the name of provisional driver’s licensees to “probationary,” moves up the off-the-roads curfew to 11 p.m.from midnight for drivers under 21 in the six-month period after receiving their license. The curfew change is one of the recommendations from the Teen Driving Study Commission report, which was released this past March in response to the growing number of accidents involving young drivers.

  1. this will aoumplish nothing, because most guys who are getting into accidents are not following the curfew anyways.

  2. they should get all the kids that are under 21 of the roads by 10 11 is to late and nit only that but with the permit they should crack down with the rules like the ones that they have in mintreal when you need to wait 10 mnths to get you rlicence not 10 days
