9:30PM EST: (UPDATE BELOW) We regret to inform you of the Petira of Hagon Rav Shaul Brus ZATZAL, a Rosh Yeshiva and Magid Shiur in Yeshivas Bais Hatalmud for more than 40 years. Rav Brus was also widely known for his Shiur which was given in the Kapishnitzer Bais Medrash in Boro Park for many years, and was one of the last remaining Talmidim of Hagon Rav Boruch Ber Leibowitz ZATZAL.
Rav Brus had suffered a serious stroke in November 2006 (reported HERE on YWN), and never recovered.
UPDATE 11:30PM EST: Misaskim tells YWN that the Levaya is scheduled for Wednesday morning at the Kapishnitzer Bais Medrash in Boro Park (14th Avenue & 55th Street) at 10:00AM, and then at Yeshiva Bais Hatalmud at 11:00AM. The Kevura will take place in Queens.

its my opinion that instead of being nisragush for a minute or two, evreyone should be mekabel upon themselves to become better people. The summer is coming, instead of sitting by the bbq and batling for a whole night, setting up, eating, and cleaning up. what happned with being deeply involved in learning to finish meschtos, the drive to finish anothe siman in shulcan aruh or to understand another tosfos. to bad its america 2008.

R’ Brus ZT”L was literally a live Sefer Torah! I was zoche to learn by him. Someone who didn’t know him can never imagine his Hasmadah and his Amailus. He literally didn’t stop learning for a second. As He walked out to the car his lips were movig with Torah. He sat right near the door in Yeshiva so he can see when the Bachurim came in & out, but he didn’t notice a thing because he was so araingitun in learning. Oy, mi yiten lanu tmuroso.
