4:40PM EST: As YWN had reported earlier (News Alerts), a police officer has been shot in the city of Miami. According to a YWN reporter live on the scene at Northwest First Avenue and 37th Street, the officer is in stable condition at Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Apparently, undercover officers were observing a drug transaction, and attempted to make an arrest. While chasing the suspects, a black car came down the street, and a weapon was fired from the vehicle – striking the officer in the arm.

As of this time, a total of two suspects have been arrested, and an additional two suspect remain at large.

A massive police presence is on the scene – including police officers from Miami Dade, Miami Beach, Bell Harbor, the FBI and many other police agencies. Also on the scene is Miami mayor Carlos Alvarez.
