Representative Adam Kinzinger on Thursday became the first Republican member of Congress to call for President Donald Trump’s removal from office, following a day of violence and looting by a pro-Trump mob that carried out an insurrection on the U.S. Capitol Building. Lawmakers inside were certifying the presidential election results.
The Illinois lawmaker, who called on the outgoing commander-in-chief’s Cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment to swiftly oust him from his post, described the seize of the Capitol complex as “a wakeup call” to install a new “sane captain of the ship.”
“Sadly, yesterday it became evident that not only has the president abdicated his duty to protect the American people and the people’s House, he invoked and inflamed passions that only gave fuel to the insurrection that we saw here,” Kinzinger stated in a video posted to Twitter. “It’s time to invoke the 25th Amendment and to end this nightmare.”

Finally a member of the GOP stating the obvious.
Didn’t think rioting was a bad thing. Wasn’t all summer ,nobody was removed from office. What happened now. ?
Oh yes, fool — the fire will really be calmed by publicly disgracing a person for whom millions voted.
A true republican. The trump ones need to be thrown out of office, they are complicit in crimes against the United States and have violated their oath of office.
I still don’t understand why any of this is being blamed on the President.

So he just said that the president is unfit. What about sleepy Joe? He can’t say a half a sentence without mispronouncing at least 2 words. And apparently slow joe is fit.
He should keep his filthy mouth shut. He is advocating treason. There is no evidence or indication “that the president is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office”. Therefore any declaration to that effect would be a lie, and using it to overthrow the president would be a coup.
Even if Trump’s rhetoric inspired people to cross a line, how is that worse than the HUNDREDS of times Democrat rhetoric has caused their followers to murder and riot. Has he forgotten how Bernie Sanders’s words inspired one of his campaign workers to attempt the murder of the whole Republican congressional softball team? Steve Scalise is only alive now bechasdei Hashem, no thanks to Sanders. And Hillary Clinton was directly responsible for the riots at Trump’s inauguration. Not to mention the OPEN SUPPORT the Democrats gave last year to all the BLM riots.
