For the third day in a row, dozens of inspectors have converged in Boro Park and Flatbush to enforce the recent COVID-19 restrictions placed on local businesses by NY Governor Cuomo.
Inspectors were seen meeting in a group on Fort Hamilton Parkway near 45th Street, and another group seen on 18th Avenue and 45th Street. [SEE VIDEO BELOW]
Dozens of summonses were reportedly doled out on Monday and Tuesday. The summonses are court appearances, with a possible fine (if convicted) of a whopping $15,000.
On Monday and Tuesday the inspectors were from the NYC Buildings Department, and on Wednesday, the inspectors appeared to be from the FDNY.
Highly credible sources tell YWN that NY Governor Cuomo was livid on Tuesday night after watching a ABC7 news report showing hundreds of children coming out of a popular girls school in Boro Park. The Governor was furious that the community was flouting authority, and that hundreds of businesses and dozens of Yeshivas remained open despite the Executive order to close.
YWN notes that the school in the ABC7 news report may have legally been able to remain open, as the school is for young children – and daycare is legally permitted to be open.
The Jewish community is outraged and says they are being targeted with the draconian enforcement, and claims that inspectors are specifically targeting Jewish-owned businesses.

Cuomo is not showing data since the skewed the data to make us look infested. Since we do not test the positivity rate is based on who got tested- usually its only those that suspect that they may have covid who get tested. Therefore, the percentage is higher. Last week was only 18 covid cases in 11204 and 31 in 11219. 11204 had one covid death and 11219 had 4. PLEASE TELL ME WHY WE ARE SHUTDOWN AND ALL OVER THE NEWS!!!!!! Many of the other zip codes have higher covid counts and death rates and aren’t shut.
I understand that everyone is upset but at the end of the day the Gov has been begging us to show some effort at complying with the masks and with social distancing and in general we HAVE FLOUTED THEM IN THEIR FACE. We forget we are in Galus. The law will not forever back us up. That’s what history shows. We have forgotten that דינא דמלכותא דינא. We have surely forgotten that we are in Galus and that עשיו שונא את יעקב and in the end our big mouths and our basic lack of willingness to listen to the law NO MATTER HOW MUCH THEY BEGGED US, is not smart. Yes, they are picking on us, but don’t continue to give them reason to do so. We need a bit of humility and we have not displayed any. I wonder where our leadership has gone. We are on a sinking ship Chas V’Shalom. We need sincere Tefillos now more than ever. It’s NOT a good situation. We need behind the scene negotiations, not open brazenness. My humble opinion.
