4. My only complaint was that the protests weren’t violent enough. Meir Kahane would be proud. He got people out of Soviet Russia while others were busy peaceful protesting, doing nothing.

6. @Yeshivishrockstar – I’m not sure how old you are but you clearly have no clue as to what the Jews in Russia were fighting for and against. Whether it is right or wrong, masking and social distance is the law for now and it is a common law applicable to all citizens. It was not enacted to persecute us or to suppress our religious practice. Even if the Governor/Mayor are too squeamish to enforce it against BLM protests, that gives us no right to flout it in the face of overwhelming evidence that it is beneficial (even if not perfect). What a disgusting chillul Hashem we are making. And how immature of us to behave in such an undignified manner. Shame on whoever attends these protests. Even by just attending, you are lending credence to this warped ideology. Finally, it is so sad for me to say this (and I am a yeshivish black hatter), but unfortunately the mobs wearing black hats, jackets, and white shirts are no different than the BLM mobs. They are mindless fools looking for a good time, taking selfies, and proclaiming that they should be treated differently than the rest of the country. Do I like DeBlasio? No. Do I like Cuomo? No. But this isn’t about them. This is about us. We own this as much as gang violence is owned by some Black communities in the US. And just like them, we have an internal mob problem that easily infects the least educated amongst us. Every Rov/Rebbe/Father/Mother should make it clear that this type of behavior doesn’t befit the Am Hanivchar and should be roundly condemmed. Shame on You. Shame on Us.

7. Agreed. With a caveat. I don’t think that rabble rouser followers follow rabbonim. But I do think that rabbonim should speak out that this isn’t us. It’s a shame that kalman yager gives him credibility.

11. It’s been the “Rabbis’” general lack of leadership that has led to this Tischler guy acting like a nut. His apparent craziness is an expression of what most people, jewish and not jewish, are feeling, specifically in NYC. The mayor and governor are morons, and the rabbis have only given Luke warm guidance. The shuls should have been 100% closed from the beginning, and wedding, funerals, etc. over 10-15 people. But no! People had to have their big weddings, and attend massive funeral processions. So this is where we are. The mayor and governor will continue to govern as morons, many people will continue not social distancing, and a few nutty people won’t be able to contain their anger and frustration anymore and take to the streets. At least he isn’t rioting and looting.

12. Not saying I agree or disagree with anything going on but the title where are the Rabbonim is WRONG. It basically means that there is something that you feel should be called out by the Rabbonim Shlita and you can’t imagine why they disagree with you. If you legitimately meant to understand and question you would call up Rabbonim in a respectful way and ask them. Questioning them in a public forum is nothing more than calling them out for not doing what YOU think is right. You should be ashamed of yourself. Again I am NOT commenting on the actual issue taking place here rather your Chutzpah against our leaders.

13. One small correction to my previous comment. It’s not just the title that’s wrong it’s the entire letter and idea of it. Go and ask and all you want from the Rabbonim. DO NOT publicly (or privately) put them down.

    How many statements have been released by various Gedolim stating that Halacha requires the wearing of masks, et al? They’ve been begging the rotzchim since the beginning but they won’t listen. The response is always one or more of the following.

    1) The Rabbonim are provided with incomplete or incorrect data and therefore any psak they issue is invalid;

    2) The Rabbonim are old and out of touch and cannot comprehend the date provided to them and therefore any psak they issue is invalid;

    3) The Rabbonim have no right to direct the behavior of those who do not attend their yeshivas or are members of their kehillas and therefore any psak they issue to such people is invalid.

    I have seen these “excuses” used in Op-Ed letters in every frum publication, from the FJJ to the Jewish Press to everything in between, and on websites like VIN, YWN even the 5T websites.

    And even the deaths of gedolim from COVID make no impression on these clowns. The Novominsker Rebbe, ztl and the Pittsburger Rebbe, Ztl are just two examples. Rav Mattis Blum, a personal friend and author of Torah Lodaas is another.

    If people refuse to listen to anyone except that walking Chilul Hashem named HT (no loshon hora), what do you want the Rabbonim to do???

28. its called shtika kihoyda. its a concept we learned in a gemara, but then again, you guys think you know it all already, it definitely wasnt so pashut that everyone agreed to this garbage mentality of not going to shul because of a cold. and yes it was a cold, a contagious cold similar to the flu, just a little more contagious. anyone that has a medical condition can wear a mask or stay home, but society will continue to live as normal, everyone knows the reason why we have 50 percent of the deaths in ny was due to the idiot cuomo that made the all nursing homes take back sick patients. he intended mass murder and Hashem will take revenge on him. so dont tell me people are dying left and right half the people that died were intended intentionally by cuomo. even though he was waned by the nursing homes it would make a disaster, but he threatened to close them down. dont close your eyes on the truth, you know it, its public knowledge. therefore instead taking on the mentality of “if you cant beat them just join them” we should all raise money to prosecute these people in federal court and give them jail time that they deserve.
