In each borough at a “crucial” location, a street will be named “Black Lives Matter,” New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio announced today.
“What will be clear — the street name and on the streets of our city — is that message that now this city must fully, fully deeply feel and this nation must as well, that Black Lives Matter,” de Blasio said.
This follows a Sunday meeting with activists, including Gwen Carr, the mother of Eric Garner, who died after an NYPD officer used a chokehold on him.
One of the locations will be near city hall, and the other locations will be decided with participants activists and city leaders, de Blasio said.

In my opinion, it should read ‘ All lives matter’.
And since black lives matter any black on black crime will be dealt more harshly in our criminal system because black lives do matter!
Is there an amendment in the City Charter that facilitates the removal of a mayor who has suffered a severe mental breakdown? We have watched some of the greatest idiocies in NYC politics in the past few years, and he outdoes himself all the time.

How about Blue Lives Matter or White Lives Matter Ave. Look at the stat’s and see for yourself that more unarmed whites were killed this year than unarmed blacks. And crime done by a black is a greater percntile according to the stats. Lets get real and take care of the city you destroyed rather than dstroy it more!

They often murder and rob others in alleys so that is the most appropriate street appellation.

Renaming streets in New York goes way back, remember “Sixth Avenue” (versus “Avenue of the Americas”) in Manhattan.

How about naming the streets “ALL Lives Matter”? Don’t they? And then we’ll have to name streets “Hispanic lives matter” and then “Oriental lives matter” and then it will be “Native American lives matter.”

So now street names will be used for political propaganda. Just like China. This is the Cultural Revolution. If you don’t know what that was, look it up. It was pure horror. And that is what is going on here now in the USA.
People should refuse to use these new names, on principle. Because if this is how they insist that black lives matter then they leave decent people no choice but to say they don’t.
All decent people’s lives matter, no matter what color their skin happens to be. But black lives qua black lives (or white lives qua white lives, or any colored lives qua lives of that color) don’t matter. The value of people’s lives depends on their character, not on their color. And someone who thinks otherwise is not a decent person, and his life doesn’t matter.
Thug lives definitely don’t matter; it’s a good thing when they die. (When the British wiped out the original Thugs, that was an act of genocide which was right and just, and made the world a better place.)
