Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Klal Yisroel has suffered tremendous tragedy. But in that tragedy, we have also seen incredible acts of Chesed.
Philanthropist Mr. Gary Torgow of Detroit has been at the forefront in his community, providing families with many items – such as toys and books for children for Pesach, thousands of meals each day for hundreds of families, household items for Pesach etc. Too many items to mention.
But the latest act of Chesed is a new level never done before:
Thousands of bicycles are being given to any child in the Detroit Jewish community. See this incredible video, where the bikes were set up in the Yeshiva to be distributed.

That is beautiful. Kids being stuck at home has not only been extremely hard on them it is actually unnatural and kids deserve some recognition for how they are handling this gezeira from Hashem. I just wonder, if every kid has the same bike, how will they recognize it when they bring it to school or day camp. I guess that’s a good problem to have

Kol hakovod to Gary. Incredible act of generosity that will benefit thousands of girls and boys in the Jewish community. Over the past several months we have seen many acts like this from Yidden many of us had never heard of but that only reinforces our belief that yidden universally are a caring a giving people to their communities.
