Lawrence NY – A teenager is lucky to be alive after he took his fathers car for a high-speed joyride early this morning.
Sources tell YWN that the teenager lost control of the vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Washington Avenue. The vehicle slammed into an electric pole breaking it in half, and then crashed into Mesivta Ateres Yaakov.
Bichasdei Hashem he walked out unharmed.
Police were investigating the incident.

Typical 5 towns, joyriding a jeep at a high rate of speed endangering everyone that’s just fine, but don’t you dare daven in a porch
I imagine that this teen will not be receiving a new car for his birthday. B’H he wasn’t hurt or killed, but of course we are even more fortunate that there weren’t several people killed as a result of the accident. If yeshiva was in session, this might have been one of the worst tragedies to hit the frum community in a while. I sincerely hope that drugs/alcohol wasn’t involved, nonetheless the teen needs to undergo safety training, education, and perhaps community service.
This is what happens when you keep these boys locked up indefinitely. No school. No Yeshiva. No Shul. No backyard minyanim (in the 5Towns).
Well, if he merited such a miracle, he must be a true tzaddik. One must study his ways and emulate him.
I hope they force him to earn the money to pay restitution for all the damage he caused.

So I guess by the last line we now know that…he is Jewish?
“B’chasdei Hashem HE walked away unscathed?” How about “B’chasdei Hashem” he didn’t injure or kill an INNOCENT bystander. There are instances where someone’s Bechirah can affect someone’s hashgocha who otherwise wouldn’t have been into judgment. If this was a “joyride” this little punk should be in jail.
Perhaps some of the commenters here have forgotten what it is like to be a teenager?
Teenagers, unfortunately, can, for biological and other reasons, be a little reckless at times, and COVID surely hasn’t helped. I’m not saying it’s okay to for them to be reckless, but why the hate from some posters?
