Mayor Deblasio spoke at a press conference on Wednesday morning, and tried to explain his tweets which have now gained national attention, and caused the Levaya of the Tola’as Yaakov Rebbe ZT”L to become national headlines.
The Mayor says that “if you say anger and frustration (in his tweets), you’re right. I spoke out of of real distress. People’s lives were in danger before my eyes, and I was not going to tolerate it. So, I regret if the way I said it, in anyway, gave people the feeling of being treated the wrong way, that was not my intention. It was said with love, but it was tough love, it was anger and frustration.
“And no, it has not happened in other places. Let’s be honest. This kind of gathering has happened in only a few places, and it cannot continue. It is endangering the lives of people in the community.
“And to all those who said this is like people gathering in the park, no it’s not like people gathering in the park. it was THOUSANDS of people. Can we just have an honest conversation?!
“No it was no acceptable, and we will not tolerate it.”

Meanwhile, Jonathan Greenblatt, the CEO of the Anti-Defamation League, on Wednesday criticized New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) over his response to a crowd of Jewish New Yorkers turning out for the funeral of Rabbi Chaim Mertz, who reportedly died from the coronavirus.
“There are 1mil+ Jewish people in #NYC,” Greenblatt tweeted at de Blasio. “The few who don’t social distance should be called out — but generalizing against the whole population is outrageous especially when so many are scapegoating Jews. This erodes the very unity our city needs now more than ever.”

How long will the city of New York have to deal with this shoita of a mayor. He is the laughingstock of the entire country as the worst mayor in the entire country. The virus has only proven how inept he is that he couldn’t do anything right.
He thinks he is smarter than President Trump and by talking in a disrespectful manner to him the president will give him what he wants. Unfortunately the IQ of the President is very high and mayor’s is very low so who ended up ahead definitely not the citizens of NYC.
When it comes to yidden DeBlasio is the all-time greatest shnorer going back to the days when he was the Boro Park councilman. He had his hand out all the time and our machers were only happy to oblige. For a person that never held a real job how does someone afford 2 houses in downtown Brooklyn, send his kids to top notch schools if not for the handouts all these years.
It is about time this crook should be investigated along with his do nothing wife. He gives her the responsibility of running a city agency and almost a billion dollars disappears and nobody says boo.
Enough is enough!! Lets all work together to get rid f this bum because who knows how much more harm he can do to the city in the next 2 years.

From what I understand it was a few hundred, not thousands, whereas those watching the Thunderbirds were in the thousands.
And NO more lives were in danger at the funeral than in the park. In both cases nobody’s life was directly in danger — the “danger” was purely theoretical. The real question is what is more essential and important: giving respect to a great person who helped many people for decades, or watching some pilots doing stupid stunts.
Poppa, there is nothing that can be done to get rid of him, and in 2 years he will be out anyway.
We should all be embarrassed of this incident that took place and be commenting on how sickening this gathering was. We are jews Hashems people we are supposed to be a leading example!
