YWN has confirmed that multiple Lakewood residents have received results, testing positive for the COVID-19 virus. Many results are still pending.
YWN notes that some of them seem to have attended large Purim parties, the type that YWN published warnings about – which fell on deaf ears, and instead labeled “fear-mongers”. It is unknown if they were carrying the virus at that point or not. In the Jewish communities of NY it is without question that Purim parties were a leading cause of the mass spread of the virus.
The leading physician in Lakewood, Dr Shanik has urgently called on all playgroups and learning groups to be disbanded immediately. Sahnik says there should be no babysitting group or learning groups of ANY KIND.
A letter from Lakewood Hatzolah and local doctors was signed yesterday by many Lakewood Rabbonim about the dangers of the virus and what precautions must be taken.
The letter was re-released today with the signature of the Posek Hagaon HaRav Shlomo Miller. The Roshei Yeshiva of BMG did not sign the letter.

What happened to the psak that without Torah learning the world would come to an end, and therefore yeshivas cannot be closed?
As per my previous question, here is a quote from YWN: “Hagadol Harav Chaim Kanievsky said that bittul Torah is more dangerous than the coronavirus.”

Sadly, those who think they ‘know better” than the medical experts will likely be the victims of their own ignorance.
the rosh hayeshivos all said to daven and learn biyichidus. i spoke with rav dovid schustals son. the fact the they didnt get a chance to sign on yesterdays letters means nothing. check out the lakewood scoop for more info
I read somewhere that there are about 30 English words for “fool,” but about 60 in Yiddish. I guess we need the extra 30 for the shmendricks in Lakewood who don’t understand contagious diseases.

So interesting how the day bmg closes is the day Lakewood gets hit with the virus.
so its like a gotchya I told you a day before you knew about it …grow up, we are facing a big issue here leave out all the kinder talk …BTW the issue was in china for about 4- maybe 5 months now and took the world a long time to get involved .. thats how people are
