In a heavily promoted election, the voters of Teaneck, yesterday, voted among 8 candidates for 3 open council positions.
Elnatan Rudolph, the frum incumbent, lost his current seat, by less than 40 votes to the newcomer, Mohammed Hameeduddin.
The campaign was a hotly contested one, where 3 of the 7 council members, the Mayor Elie Y. Katz, Elnatan Rudolph and Kevie Feit, are Shomer Shabbos (in a town where approximately 15% of the residents are Jewish.)
Councilwoman Monica Honis has also come under fire from some residents and council members for saying that re-electing her without her two running mates would be like sending her “to the gas chamber” – as was reported HERE on YWN.
Below are the unofficial results from the election provided by teanecknjgov.org
Barbara Ley Toffler – 3356
Monica Honis – 2981
Mohammed Hameeduddin – 2890
Elnatan Rudolph – 2852
Robert H. Robinson – 2841
Audra Jackson – 2572
Ned Goldman – 2129
Howard Rose – 1313

Let’s not forget Adam Gussen who is observant and on the Teaneck Council.
This news item underscores the importance of voting in each election.
Many people have the wrong attitude. They think: What can my vote accomplish?
As we see constantly: in the USA every vote counts.
For some strange reason we recently have seen with remarkable frequency many close elections.
Just recently Indiana (a must win for Hillary) almost went for Obama. All that separated them was 14,000 votes
I do not think Hillary would be around today If she would have lost Indiana.
If you don’t believe me about the importance of each vote.
…..
Ask Al Gore.
PS To all you libs: President Bush won in 2000 even after the recount was stopped by the USSC.
question, is this Hameeduddin guy muslim if he is how was he endorsed by frum jews or am i missing something here
#5. Tuesday morning on JM in the AM (www.jmintheam.org), Nachum Segal interviewed Mayor Katz and Councilman Rudolph. They explained in detail why they endorsed Mr. Hameeduddin.
