The U.S. Capitol and its office buildings were briefly evacuated Tuesday amid concerns about a small aircraft that violated restricted airspace in the area.
The evacuations were ordered as a precaution and lasted about half an hour.
The U.S. Secret Service said personnel at the White House were told to remain in place. That precaution was later lifted as well.
Capitol Police sent a notification of a potential threat shortly after 8:30 a.m., and the evacuations were ordered. People were allowed back in after about 30 minutes.

Only one cop is guarding the whole White House?
Dovidl….actually 2. The other guy was taking his bathroom break upstairs in the Residence. But not to worry. All the Park Service guys raking leaves on the West Lawn are highly trained in karav magah.
On a serious note, the camera angle (taken from Pennsylvania Ave across from Lafayette Park near 17th ST) only shows the one uniformed secret service officer. At any time there are at least half dozen uniformed officers visible on each of the south north sides respectively plus at least 12-15 others visible at the four access gates and Old Executive OB. This does not include all the plain clothes agents around the WH physical structure itself and a classified but presumably large number of uniformed and plain clothes agents inside the WH. Also, the park police and D. C. police separately have several marked cars a the WH complex periphery. There are sharpshooters visible on the roof whenever the President is entering/exiting or doing an event on the South lawn. Plus, whenever there is any demonstration planned, those number go up significantly.
