8:42AM EST: [BREAKING UPDATE BELOW] Two Israeli students have been declared missing in western China, after an earthquake with a 7.8 magnitude struck the region, Ynet reports. The two students, who study at the Reedman College, were in China as part of a visiting studies program. Of the dozen students participating in the program, they alone have not yet contacted their families.
At least 107 people were dead killed in the earthquake, another 34 people were confirmed hurt, and at least 900 students from a school were reported to be trapped in rubble in the quake that struck 57 miles northwest of the provincial capital of Chengdu at 2:28 P.M.

UPDATE 11:00AM EST: More than 7,600 people have been killed – in just one affected region of central China, the Chinese government said. 1 of 3 State-run news agency (Xinhua) says the official toll had risen to 7,651 in Sichuan Province. Authorities had earlier said they believed about 10,000 people were injured in Beichuan County in the northeastern part of the province. Additional reports are that there are at least 10,000 feared dead.

Hashem might be wanting to tell us something with these two huge natural disasters (cyclone and this earthquake). We should do teshuva!
