A major police investigation is underway after there were three attempted luring incidents in Boro Park on Motzei Shabbos.
NYPD sources confirm to YWN that a Toyota Rav 4 occupied by at least two suspects tried offering candy to children at three locations in around 25 minutes.
One incident was on 18th Avenue and 47th Street, another was on 55th Street near 15th Avenue and the third was at 51st & 17th Avenue.
The victims were all children between the ages of 9 and 12 years old.
Thankfully, in all three incidents, the children were frightened and ran home.
Police are taking this matter seriously and are adding additional patrols as Yom Kippur and Sukkos are approaching, when children will be out of school for two weeks.
The NYPD Commanding Officer, the 66 Detective Squad and office of the Chief of Brooklyn South are all heavily involved in this investigation.

Schools and parents should tell the children to be aware of strangers
the NYPD takes everything so seriously by deploying cops on smartphones all the time
@cbepsl, yes they should. But something that most people forget to tell their children is to BEWARE OF FAMILIAR ADULTS. Most instances of child molestation are perpetrated by adults the child knows. Many times the predator will prey on a child he has frequent access to. When a stranger offers candy, it’s a news story. When a friend or family member does, it can take years for the truth to come out.
