Damaging winds, torrential rain, hail and possible tornadoes are threatening the tri-state area Wednesday, bringing the potential for flash flooding and downed power lines through the afternoon and the peak evening rush.
A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for virtually the entire rest of the region, including all five boroughs of NYC, until 9:00PM.
Any severe weather that develops is likely to hit after 6 p.m., potentially making for an extremely difficult evening commute.
YWN will update with additional info as it becomes available.
