Australia’s Prime Minister, the Hon Kevin Rudd MP, visited the Yeshiva Centre – Chabad NSW Headquarters in Bondi, on Friday afternoon. In front of a packed audience of over 600, including Jewish community leaders and more than 40 Rabbis, the Prime Minister was presented with a Menorah (Jewish Candelabra) by the Dean and Spiritual Leader of the Yeshiva Centre, Rabbi Pinchus Feldman OAM.
The visit continues the Prime Minister’s strong support for and close association with the Yeshiva Centre.
“I am proud to be giving my third address to the Yeshiva community in Sydney; first as Opposition Leader at the Yeshiva Gala Dinner in 2007, then as Prime Minister at this year’s dinner via a video message and today in person at the Yeshiva’s central premises,” the Prime Minister told the crowd.
