Chazon Dovid Outpost Synagogue Destroyed Again

Several dozen police during the predawn hours on Sunday morning once again destroyed the Chazon Dovid outpost shul in Kiryat Arba.

While it was not the first time the unauthorized structure was removed, last week, many supporters arrived on the scene, preventing police from destroying it. Today, Sunday, they were less fortunate and police did dismantle and remove the structure.

Activists vow to rebuild it once again, explaining they will not tire until authorities understand they remain determined and will not abandon efforts to erect the shul in the area.

Chazon Dovid is named after Betar Illit resident David Cohen, who on July 12, 2001 was shot in the head in a terror attack near Kiryat Arba. He died of his wounds two days later.

Cohen, a building contractor, was involved in the construction of a new Bnei Akiva youth center in the area. He was planning to move to Kiryat Arba. He is survived by a wife and two children.
