The annual battle over rent hikes could get heated today as landlords and tenants make their cases at a rent guidelines board public hearing at the City Planning Commission.
Landlords say rising costs, especially fuel prices make it necessary for them to raise rents – and they’re looking for a 10 to 15 percent increase on rent stabilized apartments.
But tenants say that’s way too much.
A preliminary vote is set for Monday. The final vote is scheduled for June.
