A state appeals court says the Port Authority is liable for the fatal 1993 World Trade Center bombing by terrorists.
A five-judge panel refused to set aside a jury verdict that the Port Authority was negligent and more than 50 percent liable.
A Manhattan jury found that the agency had not properly protected its underground public parking garage.
Terrorists blew up a rental van with explosives there in 1993, killing six people and injuring almost 1,000 others.
The Port Authority is responsible for all money damages that may be due to plaintiffs, under state law. Damages have yet to be determined at either a trial or by negotiations.
There are about 50 plaintiffs left and lawyers estimate the damages at more than $50 million.
The Port Authority says that all but a few dozen of the remaining lawsuits from the bombing have been resolved and it looks forward to addressing the final few.

Very funny. Hindsight is 20/20.
We were living in a different world then, you can’t try them by today’s standards. Any jury today can not help but to have a “tightened security” way of thinking these days.
