Police say a man has been shot and wounded by a police officer after he shot another man outside a New York City bar and refused orders to drop his weapon.
The shooting happened at 4 a.m. Saturday outside the RRR Lounge in Queens.
Chief of Patrol Rodney Harrison says a 38-year-old man shot a 32-year-old man in the foot.
Harrison says a plainclothes team arrived and found the victim trying to wrestle the gun away from the shooter.
Police say the officers ordered the suspect to drop the gun and when he did not, the officers fired at him.
The suspect was shot in the torso and arm. Both the victim and the suspect were taken to a hospital in stable condition.
Police recovered a gun and a knife.
