An elderly woman was tragically struck and killed by a vehicle backing into a Flatbush driveway.

It happened just after 6:00PM, Wednesday evening, in front of 2965 Avenue S near East 29 Street.

The NYPD tells YWN that an 85-year-old female was walking westbound on the sidewalk on Avenue S when she was struck by a 2009 Toyota Highlander as the 49-year-old male driveway backed into his driveway.

EMS responded to the location and transported the female in traumatic arrest to Kings County Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

The 49-year-old male driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.

There are no arrests and the investigation is ongoing by the New York City Police Department’s Highway Patrol Collision Investigation Squad.

Police identified he victim as Stella Clinton, of Gerritsen Avenue.
