Six Baltimore City firefighters were injured while battling an early-morning fire on Wednesday.
Black, thick smoke filled the air in the 400 block of North Glover Street in East Baltimore.
The two-alarm fire started in the basement and quickly spread. The occupants of the multi-family home were able to escape the burning building, along with their pets.
6 firefighters were burned on the arms, hands and/or face and were being treated at Bayview Burn Center.
“This could have been a lot worse. We definitely don’t want to tell the story of injured firefighters, but we’re very fortunate that we just had minor injuries,” said Blair Adams, from the Baltimore City Fire Department.
