A young teenager riding his bike was struck by a DHL delivery truck on Avenue N and East 22 Street, Friday afternoon.
Flatbush Hatzolah was on the scene in seconds after receiving multiple calls that a child was pinned under a truck. Upon arrival, Hatzolah members found the victim pinned under the truck. Fast responding FDNY units lifted the truck on wooden blocks, and quickly removed the boy.
Bichasdei Hashem, the boy was wearing a helmet, and suffered non-life-threatening injuries. He was talking and fully conscious as he was removed from the scene.
He was taken to Maimonides Hospital, where he was being treated for some minor burns he suffered from the bottom of the engine of the truck. Other injuries he sustained were all stable.
The NYPD was investigating the incident.

Just another day in DHL is the worst…
Not sure the details of this particular incident however Avenues M, N and O should be off limits to bicyclists. They are too narrow to even accommodate the two lanes of car traffic that travel there. The bikes compound an already dangerous situation. The cyclist here was b”h lucky. The next one might not be.
