The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Thursday shows that 43% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trump’s job performance. Fifty-six percent (56%) disapprove.

After U.S. intelligence officials yesterday offered a Senate panel assessments of threats to the United States, especially from North Korea and Iran, Trump pushed back touting progress on North Korean nuclear disarmament and calling their views on the danger from Iran, “extremely passive and naive.”
Intelligence is another issue over which voters are split with 45% thinking U.S. intelligence agencies have their own political agenda, and 43% thinking they generally perform impartially.
Lawmakers wrangled with border security yesterday, including with the definition of a wall, leading to a series of Trump tweets this morning. “Lets (sic) just call them WALLS from now on and stop playing political games! A WALL is a WALL!”
But voters don’t expect Congress to fund Trump’s border wall and think another federal government shutdown is likely on the way.
Democratic Virginia Governor Ralph Northam ignited a firestorm of conservative criticism yesterday when he expressed support for terminating a pregnancy at birth, similar to the measure that became law in New York last week but added that infanticide might be appropriate at times.
Fifty-six percent (56%) of voters consider themselves pro-choice on the issue of abortion, up from 51% in May, while 36% consider themselves pro-life. But just after the 2016 election, 50% of voter believed abortion is morally wrong most of the time.

For some reason the numbers approving of Trump are always higher with Rasmussen than with any other poll. Does anyone understand the reason?
