Rav Yechiel Twersky ZATZAl, who was the brother of the Chernoble Rebbe Rav Zisha Twersky ZATZAL, was suddenly Niftar on Friday afternoon in a Bnei Brak Mikva. According to reports, Rav Twersky entered the Mikva on Rechov Kalish at approximately 12:00 noon, to Toivel himself Likovid Shabbos.
Shortly after, people noticed he was not breathing in the water, and Hatzolah and MDA Medics were summoned to the scene. Unfortunately, he was R”L pronounced dead.
Rav Yechiel Twersky ZATZAL was a great-grandson of the Divrei Chayim from Sanz ZATZAL, and an uncle to the two current Chernoble Rebbes (Boro Park, and Bnei Brak).
A large Levaya took place at 3:00PM on Rechov Rav Tarfon.

I’m a cousin of his… he was a true Yid from the “frierdicker dor”. Every “boruch Hashem” was REAL! He was unbelievably mechabed the current Chernobeler Rebbe Shlit”a, his nephew, and would share many stories about his nephews gadlus that only he knew (for instance, he told me that often at Chupahs the rebbe would whisper to him if he could drink the wine after the rebbe made the brocha, since the rebbe was fasting). He was a Yid FULL of betachon, something very rare today. Everything that happened to him – good or bad – was focused on and discussed, exactly why did Hashem do this…..
May we learn fropm the previous doros and be zoche to see them b’karov, with Moshiach BB”A!
