Police are looking for the person who scrawled swastikas on an elderly woman’s door in the Midwood section of Brooklyn.
Miryam Marc, 77, was horrified to find two 12-inch red swastikas outside the door to her apartment on Ocean Parkway, near Avenue M, on Shabbos afternoon.
Marc told CBS2’s Lisa Rozner her late husband survived the holocaust, and when she was a young girl her mother took her and her siblings from Europe to Israel to escape persecution.
The NYPD Hate Crime Task Force is investigating the incident, but there were no security cameras in that part of the building.
Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crimestoppers website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM, on Twitter @NYPDTips or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
All calls are kept strictly confidential.
