A scam-artist who suckered thousands of dollars out of local residents was finally arrested thank to Flatbush Shomrim.
YWN published numerous articles warning the community in Flatbush and Boro Park about the man – who would intentionally walk into vehicles and claim he was struck by them. He would then demand large sums of money, in exchange for not calling 911.
Dozens of people were victims to this man who worked closely with another scam artist – believed to be his son.
On Sunday afternoon, Flatbush Shomrim received a call reporting that the man had just tried to scam someone out of money after walking into his car. Shomrim responded and watched the man from a distance as he did it a second time. The NYPD was called, and he was taken into custody.
Thanks to the great #TeamWork between our volunteers and @NYPD61Pct, this infamous #scammer that has been going around scamming people for months on end- taking 1,000’s of hard earned dollars from innocent people, has been arrested last night. #FightingCrime #ItsWhatWeDo pic.twitter.com/z5lgfVotsO

The suspect has been doing this scam for years. Police are still looking for the second suspect (the son).
Shomrim says if you were victimized, call 911 and Shomrim’s 24-hour hotline 718-338-9797 immediately.
